THE LEGEND OF LIONMAN CROWNED “7 YOUNG AMERICAN HEROES” AT DISNEY’S MARTIAL ARTS FESTIVAL!

Anaheim, California – Grand Master Eric “LIONMAN” O’Neal, Sr.,  7-Time U.S.K.A. World Karate Champion, 2-Time Gold Medalist, Int’l & Masters Hall of Famer has crafted a brilliant and innovative new concept that has engaged the children of America. This concept is called, “The Legend of LIONMAN search for 7 Young American Heroes.” Grand Master O’Neal has joined forces with Rob Hartman, Director of the Disney Martial Arts Festival to showcase and exhibit 7 Young American Heroes; real youth that excel in the Martial Arts. The key principle of the 7 Young American Heroes is to embody, promote, and uplift the importance of higher education, self-discipline, self-esteem and self-preservation. Grand Master O’Neal and his team have journeyed to 20 cities all across America over a course of 7 months on a search for 7 Young American Heroes. Out of thousands of Martial Artists across America, only 7 finalists from each city were invited to meet in Anaheim, California on the Disneyland Resort for the final competition of the 7 Young American Heroes, and now the extraordinary news is in!!! The top, outstanding competitors from the ages of 10-17 assembled in Anaheim, California to perform in various forms of Martial Arts. The 7 Young American Heroes that were crowned, displayed exceptional talent, brought the crowd to their feet, confounded and mystified the Disney Martial Arts Festival. Each of the 7 Young American Heroes were recognized and awarded with a huge, gleaming, gold championship titled belt that reads “2010 Young American Hero.” Our exciting new Heroes are as follows: (From left to right in the photo above) Jasmine Magallanes, Anthony Magallanes, Jorge Rodriguez, Dean Hubbard, Alejandro Cepero, Kevin/Calvin Ross, and Kylie Chock.

Auditions for 7 Young American Heros to be held May 21-23 in Los Angeles

Grand Master Eric O’Neal Sr., President and CEO of The LIONMAN Foundation, which promotes excellence in education and discipline in life, and Prime-Cut Productions are in search of The Legend Of LIONMAN, "7 Young American Heroes”. These "7 Young American Hero's" will be chosen from martial artists between the ages of 10 and 17 who are striving to be excellent students as well as disciplined people. The goal of this "American Idol" style martial arts competition is to create young American heroes who will promote the ideals of the LIONMAN Foundation which is to educate one child at a time, while inspiring millions! It is the goal of The LIONMAN Foundation to promote "7 Young American Hero's" as positive role models for America's youth, role models who believe that education makes a difference and that hard work pays off!

The Legend Of LIONMAN 7 Young American Hero's audition, an annual event, will be auditioning martial arts students, ages 10 through 17, at Dawn Strozier's new The Aerobics Room at 3820 Crenshaw Blvd., Los Angeles, California, (for directions call 310-289-2167) from May 21 - 23, 2010. Auditions start at 12:00 noon and will run until 4:00pm. Winners of the auditions will compete at The Legend of LIONMAN finals during the Disney’s Martial Arts Festival on June 19, 2010 at Disneyland® Resort, Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, California. The winners of the 7 Young American Heroes will be crowned as Ambassadors of the Martial Arts at the Masters Hall of Fame.

You can become one of the first "7 Young American Heroes" for this season. The top "7 Young American Heroes" will participate in a reality TV Show and they will take part in the new movie, "The Lion and the Dragon", with Grandmaster Eric O’Neal, Sr. and Grandmaster Jim Kelly, from the movie, Enter the Dragon, starring the Legendary Bruce Lee. The "7 Young American Heroes" chosen in Anaheim, California, will receive prizes and scholarships. They will also donate their time and efforts to improve their communities with 100 hours of dedicated volunteer time. The Legend of LIONMAN will be highlighting the "7 Young American Heroes" at schools and special events throughout the United States as well as at martial arts venues everywhere.

This is a very special opportunity for martial arts students from throughout the country to compete and highlight their talents and skills. This event will encourage and engage our youth through the action of martial arts to be the best that they can be, in all aspects of their lives, with a major focus on education and discipline in life.
